Fees & Rebates

At OATY Health, we operate under a mixed billing model, meaning that some appointments are bulk billed, while others incur an out-of-pocket fee depending on your eligibility* and referral type.​

Standard Fees

Our consultation fees vary depending on the service provided and appointment length.​​

  1.  Long consultation (60 min) : $120​

  2.  Short consultation (30 min) : $80

​​​

  • All patients will be charged a standard consultation fee unless eligible for bulk billing.

  • The full fee is payable before the appointment, unless otherwise arranged.

  • You may be eligible for a Medicare rebate of $60.35 for dietitian services if you have a valid referral from your GP under a CDMP or EPC plan.

  • The out-of-pocket fee will be charged to patients who are not bulk billed.

Medicare Rebates

Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDMP)

You may be eligible for a Medicare rebate if your GP has referred you under a Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDMP), also known as an Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan. This is commonly used for clients with chronic medical conditions, such as:​​

  • ​Diabetes

  • Cardiovascular disease

  • Gastrointestinal disorders

  • Obesity

 

​Rebate amount

  • $60.35 per eligible consultation

Number of sessions

  • Up to 5 allied health sessions per calendar year, shared across eligible providers

​

*You must bring your referral letter and GP Management Plan to claim the rebate.*

Eating Disorder Plan (EDP)

For those diagnosed with an eating disorder, your GP or psychiatrist may refer you under an EDP, which includes:

​

  • Rebate amount: $60.35 per eligible consultation

  • Up to 20 dietitian sessions per year (in addition to psychology sessions)

  • Eligibility criteria must be met, and a review is required after each set of 10 sessions

Private Health Insurance Rebates

Private Health Funds

Most private health funds offer rebates for dietitian services under extras cover. Rebates vary depending on your:​​

  • ​Level of cover

  • Health fund

  • Annual limit

  • Whether you've met your excess

 

​Check directly with your insurer using the provider number we supply after booking

 

*We can provide you with an invoice for claiming manually.*

NDIS

NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme)

Oaty Health welcomes self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. We provide support for:

​

  • ​Nutrition education

  • Disability-related nutrition needs

  • Special diets and enteral feeding guidance​

Other Rebates & Support Options

DVA (Department of Veterans’ Affairs)

Clients with a Gold Card (or eligible White Card) may receive fully funded dietitian services with a GP referral.​​

WorkCover / TAC

If your nutrition needs relate to a workplace injury or transport accident, you may be eligible for coverage. Referral and approval required.​​

Community programs / NGOs

Some community programs, mental health services, or Aboriginal health organisations may offer funded access to dietitians. Ask your care team for more info.​​

Billing Policy

​​Bulk Billing Eligibility*

  • Patients who hold a valid concession card, pension card, or healthcare card may be eligible for bulk billing.

  • Patients experiencing financial hardship may also be considered for bulk billing at our discretion — please contact us prior to your appointment.

  • To access bulk billing, you must:

    • Provide a valid GP referral (CDM/EPC) prior to your appointment

    • Present your Medicare card and concession card (if applicable)

Appointment Confirmation & Payment Policy

  • After you book online, we will review your referral, concession status, and eligibility for bulk billing.

  • If an out-of-pocket fee applies, we will contact you via email or SMS with a secure payment link or bank transfer details.

  • Appointments are not considered confirmed until payment has been received.

  • If payment is not received within the suitable timeframe, your appointment may be cancelled or rescheduled.

Cancellations & No-Show Policy

  • We understand that circumstances change. If you need to cancel or reschedule, we kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice.

  • Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice or missed without notice may incur a cancellation fee of up to 100% of the consultation fee.

  • This fee is not covered by Medicare or private health.

 

Payment Methods

  • We accept payment via:

    • Credit/debit card 

    • Bank transfer 

  • All card payments are processed securely via Halaxy Payments, and you will receive a receipt for your records.
